Established by missionaries from the Sudan Interior Mission (SIM) in 1954, ECWA has grown significantly across Nigeria and West Africa. Known for its evangelical zeal and emphasis on Scripture, ECWA churches focus heavily on missionary work, education, and health services. ECWA operates several schools, seminaries, hospitals, and other community services, often in areas where government resources are limited. This has made ECWA a significant influence, especially in rural and underserved regions.
